February 24th, 2010--The Grand Valley Lakers put another win under their belt in the game again Hope. The final score of the game was 24-16. The Hope Flying Dutchman came out strong, at the start of the game, with an intense urge to win. They monopolized their strengths, using their intimidating offensive line. During the first quarter, Hope scored a total of 4 goals, and Grand Valley led with 6. The Lakers defense remained consistent throughout the game. In the second quarter, the Lakers tightened up and only allowed Hope to score only another 2 goals in the second quarter, while the Lakers scored 7. The third quarter proved to be a little more difficult, as the Flying Dutchman stepped up their offense and added another 5 goals. However, Grand Valley still led the quarter with 7 more points. During the last quarter, the Lakers lost some of their steam, allowing Hope to score 5 goals and only scoring 4 for themselves. The Lakers kept their defense tight and their offense strong the entire game, which lead to their triumphant win. The lead scorers in this game were Jack Dumsa with an astonishing 8 goals and Michael Garner with 4. Other successful players in this game were Max Bielby, who went 16 and 2 in the face off, and also Jeremy Pouba who had 6 assists. It was a great win for the Lakers, and hopefully and example of what the rest of the season will look like.
