AARON HAYNES 1979 - 2009

The Grand Valley State University Men's Lacrosse program has lost a great teammate, friend and leader. Aaron "Biggie" Haynes has died. Aaron was killed in a car accident early November 23rd. Aaron can be considered the "Grandfather" of Grand Valley Lacrosse. |

• Check out our Sponsor Page! • April 1, 2010—Grand Valley and Aquinas faced off in a match, ending in a 22-6 win for the Lakers. Aquinas came out strong, calling Grand Valley for their best game. Grand Valley’s offense was incredible and scored an impressive 8 goals in the first quarter, while Aquinas scored 2. In the second quarter, the Lakers scored another 5 goals. Although Grand Valley was in the lead, Aquinas never let down their offense or defense and kept their intensity high. The third quarter went similarly with Grand Valley scoring 6 more goals. Aquinas kept their hope up and scored 4 goals in the last quarter, while Grand Valley scored 3. Jack Dumsa led the game with 7 goals, and also Jeremy Pouba scored 6. It was another great win for the Lakers. - Kelsey Mezak
• March 30, 2010—The Grand Valley State Lakers won their match against Western Michigan, 15-14. It was an intensely close game, which ended with the Lakers making a strong come back within the last half. Western took the lead in the first quarter, winning 5-3. The second quarter took much of the same pattern with Western leading 10-7. It was a back and forth game, with the both teams offense moving quickly. The entire game was very close, and with the Lakers being behind, they stepped their game up during the last half. The third quarter ended with the Lakers scoring 5 goals and the Broncos scoring 1. Grand Valley kept the lead for the rest of the game. Both Jack Dumsa and Jeremy Pouba scored 4 goals each during this game. - Kelsey Mezak
• March 28th, 2010--Grand Valley faced St. Thomas, in an extremely close match; the final score was 6-5. St. Thomas played aggressively and ended up winning the game within the last few seconds. It was a great disappointment for the Lakers. - Kelsey Mezak
